Still time to organize a Great American Clean-Up
Artesians are encouraged to help spruce up the city this summer as part of a nationwide program. The Great American Clean-Up is an annual community improvement program organized by Keep America Beautiful, a nonprofit organization that has more than 700 state and community-based affiliate organizations and more than 1,000 partner organizations.

Ingredients: Cake 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp baking powder 3/4 tsp salt 2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp ground ginger 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg 1/4 tsp ground allspice 3/4 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 large eggs 2 cups unsweetened applesauce 3/4 cup vegetable oil or canola oil 1 tsp vanilla extract Cream Cheese Frosting 8 oz cream cheese, nearly at room temperature 6 Tbsp butter, soft 3 cups powdered sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract Directions: To make the applesauce cake: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 13 by 9-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
