Artesia City Councilor Jose Luis Aguilar met Wednesday with State Senator Cathrynn Brown and Representative-elect Jim Townsend at Guadalupe Park, where Aguilar announced the city would be creating parking space on the park’s south side.
“We asked for $150,000 for two things, but it turns out that we only get to do one,” Aguilar said.
Plans for the project began last year, when Aguilar requested money for the parking project. State legislators provided $50,000 last year, and Navajo Refining Co. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.provided $25,000 to the project.
