Attorneys for the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) say they will be arguing the asylum case of a Salvadoran immigrant today who was arrested by Border Patrol agents shortly after crossing the American border with her daughter in June.
The defendant, identified only by the initials M.C., said she was beaten and raped by her husband for more than 10 years. “If you leave me, I will kill you,” the defendant quoted in a statement to the AILA. “And I will kill your father.
