
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, April 21, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Alice Romero Lopez of Artesia.
Lopez, 59, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque.
Interment will follow the services at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ivan Aguirre, Zachary Jimenez, Edward Canales, Albert Lopez, Bobby Olguin and Eloy Aguirre.
A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Grace.
Alice was born Oct. 3, 1956, in Artesia, the daughter of Juan H. and Leonarda (Romero) Lopez. She was a lifelong Artesia resident.
She worked as a caregiver and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She enjoyed camping and travelling, and loved to spend time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her father, Juan Lopez, of Artesia; sons Timothy Hoerath and wife Alice, and John William Hoerath, both of Artesia, and Matthew Hoerath and wife Mary of Roswell; sisters Diana Losoya and husband Joey, and Mary Helen Aguirre, both of Artesia; brothers Johnny R. Lopez and Christine Scheikh of Carlsbad and Orlando R. Lopez and wife Susan of Artesia; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother; grandson Fernando Hoerath; and her grandparents.
