ARTESIA — Contrary to the possible beliefs of those consuming it, alcohol, in its various forms, is a depressant. With this being the case, the Artesia Police Department, along with the Eddy County Sheriff’s Office and the New Mexico State Police, would like citizens to keep in mind that their driving skills are not as sharp after consuming alcohol and climbing behind the wheel.
