Artesia’s mayor and city council returned this weekend from its annual retreat in Cloudcroft, where city administrators settled major issues that remained on the agenda.
“It was a good meeting, and we got a lot done,” said Artesia Mayor Phillip Burch on Monday. According to Burch, the city’s budget – arguably the largest issue – was finalized on Sunday.
The city administration has rewritten its list of major projects for the coming years, including an emphasis on the purchase of water rights.
