The City of Artesia has a variety of events on tap Friday in honor of the Veterans’ Day holiday.
J&J Home Care and Lakeview Christian Hospice are teaming up to host a pancake breakfast for veterans from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church Total Life Center.
Then at 11 a.m. in Baish Veterans’ Park in front of City Hall, Artesia MainStreet will host its annual Veterans’ Day Ceremony.
The program honoring the men and women of Artesia who have bravely served their country will include performances from the Artesia Public Schools third-grade classes and the Artesia High School band.
Keynote speaker will be CPT(P) Pedro N. Martinez III of Artesia.
MainStreet is also once again accepting applications for name additions to the Wall of Honor in Baish Park. For more information, call 746-1117.
Immediately following the ceremony, the Artesia Historical Museum and Art Center will welcome visitors to its annual Honoring Artesia’s Veterans exhibit.
Light refreshments will be served until 2:30 p.m., and the exhibit will remain on display through Nov. 25.
