
Seventeen incoming APS teachers greeted at New Teacher Breakfast

The Artesia Public Schools and members of the community welcomed 17 new teachers to the district and honored five 25-year and eight newly retired faculty members during a New Teacher Breakfast held this morning at the Total Life Center at First Baptist Church.
Artesia Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Hayley Klein thanked the district for making the education process an exciting one, recognized the teachers for their dedication, and thanked the entire community for their contribution to the education of the next generation of Bulldogs.
APS Superintendent Mike Phipps gave a special thanks to the entire APS faculty and welcomed the new teachers to the community.
“We ask the community to welcome them to the town and to show them where the orange shirts are sold,” he said in jest.
Phipps urged the new teachers and current faculty to maintain a common focus throughout the upcoming school year and to always remain focused on the children.
Phipps also recognized an anonymous group of financial contributors who have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars toward the better education of Artesia youth. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
