Artesia’s own Cooper Kirkpatrick will be leaving tomorrow to compete in the National High School Finals Rodeo—-or the World’s Largest Rodeo—-held by the National High School Rodeo Association (NHSRA) in Rock Springs, Wyo., July 15-21. According to a press release, the action will be non-stop, with rodeo performances held twice each day. Lenna Kirkpatrick, Cooper’s mother, said that he will be competing against 146 other high school athletes in the steer wrestling event.
