A 13-year-old New Jersey girl was killed Sunday evening in a rollover accident involving an ATV near Malaga.

The New Mexico State Police responded at approximately 7 p.m. Sunday to the scene near the Pecos River where an ATV occupied by two juveniles had rolled.

Zoe Carr, 13, of Marlton, N.J., was seriously injured in the wreck. She was transported to Carlsbad Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.

A 13-year-old male passenger sustained minor injuries.

Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the wreck; however, Carr was not wearing a safety helmet.
