Getting students to love learning is what Sharlene Kreager, Central Elementary School’s new fourth-grade teacher, wants to accomplish.
Originally from Abilene, Texas, Kreager and her family have lived in Artesia for the past 13 years.
Kreager graduated in December of 2011 from Eastern New Mexico University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in Social Studies and is endorsed in middle-level Math and middle-level Science. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
She taught middle-school math in Dexter for one semester before becoming a fourth-grade teacher at Central.
Kreager knew she wanted to be a teacher at a very young age.
“My first-grade teacher, Mrs. Butler, was wonderful, and I have wanted to be a teacher ever since,” Kreager said. “She had a very safe and loving classroom environment. She let us know we were all important.”
