Services are pending for Charlene Yvette Smith of Christiana, Tenn.

Smith, 49, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016, at the home of Kristy and Richard Fox.

She was born April 16, 1967, in Artesia. As a child, she enjoyed being outdoors, playing softball, and having fun. Charlene graduated from Hobbs High School in 1986 and from Glendale Community College in 1996.

She had various jobs in her young life. She loved her family and having her own space.

Charlene was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. In loving memory of Charlene. May you rest in peace.

Survivors include brother Nathan Smith and wife Gina of Hagerman; sister Sheila Upton and husband Tim of Peoria, Ariz.; nephew Neal Smith; nieces Crystal Chandler, Tressa Upton and Cassy Upton; great-niece Baily Upton; aunts Bonnie Johns, Sharron Tyler and Elizabeth Capito; uncle Cliff VanCuren; and adopted mother, sister, daughter and granddaughter Carol McGuffie, Kristy Fox and husband Richard, Taisha Roberts and Jessica Brandon.

She was preceded in death by grandparents Adam and Ella Smith, and James and Marjorie VanCuren; father Charles Smith; and mother Roselie Atkins.
