A funeral mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Clyde R. Rodriquez.

Rodriquez, 66, passed away Jan. 1, 2016.

Deacon Pablo Merjil will officiate at the services, with interment to follow at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers are Lorenzo, Kris, Mateo, Conrad, Hector, Jerome and Cayetano.

Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Grace. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Clyde was born Sept. 29, 1949, in Artesia to Faustino and Josefina Reyes Rodriquez.

Woodworking being a passion, he was a laborer working as a “handyman” for more than 50 years. He also made very good beef jerky.

Friends were a special part of Clyde’s life, especially Hector Hernandez, Jerome Ochoa and Cayetano Mendoza. He went to breakfast with friends every morning, even during the recent big storm, when he made it out of the driveway to meet them. He was always on the go, unless it was to stay home on the porch visiting with his friends there.

Clyde loved his wife, Mary, with all of his heart. They spent 35 years together.

Those remaining to carry on Clyde’s heritage include his wife, Mary Rodriquez, of Artesia; daughters Melissa Jimenez and husband Mo, and Tracy Torres and husband Willie, both of Artesia; stepdaughters Charlotte Andrade of Roswell, Christina Galindo and husband Danny of Artesia, and Angela Covarrubio and husband Dennis of Pasadena, Texas; stepsons Conrad Hernandez and friend Kim of Artesia, and Mark Jimenez of Roswell; brother Lonnie Rodriquez and wife Amelia of Artesia; grandchildren Crystal Carrales, Lorena Losoya, Kristopher Losoya, Mateo Torres, Noa Torres, Francisca Leon, Patricia Leon and Lorenzo Leon; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Faustino and Josefina Reyes Rodriquez, and one brother, Sammy Rodriquez.

Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory of Roswell. Condolences may be expressed online at andersonbethany.com.
