The Eddy County Commission approved a motion Tuesday for its staff to work on a final draft of the ordinance that proposes a three-eighths of 1 percent increase in Hold Harmless Gross Receipts Taxes on municipalities in the county.
Under that ordinance, two-eighths would be dedicated to roads and the remaining one-eighth would go toward the general fund for unfunded mandates under a sunset clause of 20 years. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
