
Artesia is cordially invited to the fanciest soiree to ever hit Fayro, Texas, as the Artesia Community Theatre presents the southern-fried wedding comedy “Dearly Beloved.”
“Dearly Beloved” follows the hilarious antics of the Futrelle sisters – Frankie, Honey Raye and Twink – as they attempt to throw a sophisticated set of antebellum-inspired nuptials for Frankie’s daughter, Tina Jo.
The cast includes Colleen Bradley as twin sisters Tina Jo and Gina Jo Futrelle; Melanie Dippel as Frankie Dubberly; Danielle Brady as Twink Futrelle; Rebecca Griffin as Honey Rae Futrelle; Jim Scheutz as Dub Dubberly, Frankie’s husband; Harold J. Bennett as John Curtis Buntner, highway patrolman and Dub’s best friend; Maria Almanza as Patsy Price, Tina Jo’s future mother-in-law; Becky Terpening as wedding planner Geneva; Cary Ramos as Justin Waverly, seminarian; Kandace Green as Madam Nelda, local psychic; and Van Webster as Wiley Hicks, Twink’s fiancé of 15-and-a-half years.
“Dearly Beloved” is directed by Sandy Schuetz, with Betty Skinner serving as stage manager, Mona Williams as assistant stage manager, Lauren Austin, lighting and sound, and Reginia Garner, ticketing.
Tickets for the play are $10 each and are available in advance from any cast or crew member, or at the door prior to each performance.
Performances are set to begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 19-21, and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at the Ocotillo Performing Arts Center.
