Terry Brunner, state director of USDA Rural Development, was in attendance Thursday at a ribbon cutting ceremony at Central Valley Electric Cooperative. The ceremony was held in recognition of the $80,000 USDA Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) grant that went toward a geothermal heating and cooling system installed in CVE’s new headquarters.
CVE applied for the grant in order to make the new building more energy efficient. Dennis Hembd, project engineer with Jaynes Corporation, headed up the building project more than one year ago, and the project and the grant that facilitated it were celebrated Thursday. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
