
Memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel in Carlsbad for David “Jerry” Hall of Carlsbad.
Hall, 68, passed away Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.
Lance Redman and Pastor Brett Smith will officiate at the services, and the Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Honorary pallbearers are his horse riding buddies.
Hall was born June 9, 1947, in Artesia to Henry and Thelma Irene (Slator) Hall. He was raised in Cottonwood and served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam.
He worked in the oilfield for many years as a pusher and driller. He had a great love for horses and has ridden many trails through the years. He also enjoyed going to auctions. Hall was a member of Day Spring Fellowship and a life member of BPO Elks Lodge No. 1717 in Artesia.
Survivors include his daughters, Lori Underwood and husband David of Midland, Texas, Tina Lollis of Austin, Texas, Tammy Hall and Jodi Baldwin of Midland, Krystal Gutierrez and husband Andy of Carlsbad, and Jerrie Besing and husband John of Roswell; grandchildren Blaine Whittington and wife Emma, Stephany Zafarano, Holly Zafarano, Jeremy Montoya, Brian Stinnett, Derricka Ramon and husband Daniel, Zandra Gallegos, Austin Besing, Tyler Besing, Kerri Besing, and Christopher Tavarez; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers Tony Hall and wife Loretta of Artesia, Guy Evans of Redding, Calif., and Thomas Hall of Rapid City, S.D.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
