From left, Artesia FFA representatives Joy Menefee, Tori Null, Cooper Hall, Wright Gatewood and Delaney Hanagan join Mayor Phillip Burch as he declares Feb. 15-22 as FFA Week in Artesia. FFA and agricultural education, the proclamation states, “provide a strong foundation for the youth of America and the future of food, fiber and natural resources systems” and “ensure a steady supply of young professionals to meet the growing demands in the science, business and technology of agriculture.” The first FFA Week was established in 1947 by the National FFA Board of Directors. An array of events are planned throughout the week that will permit the local chapter to communicate with others what FFA is about. Grace Miller – Daily Press
