Flames lick their way through fields east of Lake Road near Dayton and Thistle roads Tuesday afternoon. The fire, which was reported by a passing motorist, burned six different fields and threatened 10 to 12 more that would also have suffered damage if not for its extinguishment by firefighters with the Atoka Volunteer Fire Department.
