Artesia Fire Department Fire Fighters, Dakota Corbell and Darcee Knight retreat from the Ralph Nix roof top after checking for any burning structures above. Welder Thad Lewis said, “It is presumed that the distinct and strong smell of the weld cutting raised concern to the owner. We made a call to the Artesia Fire Department because it’s better to be safe than sorry.”
