An attempt by Artesia Police Department officers to serve a warrant resulted in a brief pursuit and required use of a taser, leading to additional charges against the suspect.
At approximately 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, APD officers were dispatched to First Baptist Church in reference to a wanted felony subject identified as Joshua L. Barnes, 40, of Artesia. Officers arrived on the scene and made contact with Barnes, informing him that he was under arrest for outstanding warrants on charges of larceny and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
