The Joel Gothard Band will be back in concert at The Jahva House in a benefit concert for On the Move at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10.
They will once again be playing a nice mix of contemporary Christian topped with a little bit of country. Joel Gothard is an accomplished singer, songwriter and piano player; he will be accompanied by his daughter, Tayler, and longtime friend, Mark Hafliger.
The band’s collective love for music shines through every fiber of their being; this love and their skills have contributed to their local success. Tickets are $7 and can be purchased at the Outreach Center, The Jahva House, from any On the Move board member, or at the door. All proceeds go toward upkeep, utilities and insurance at the Outreach Center.
When we met for the first time in August 2014 at the library to address the issue of the homeless in Artesia, we certainly never dreamed we would be where we are today. We have far exceeded many of our dreams for On the Move, and we are still dreaming.
We were blessed earlier this year when Hermosa Church of Christ deeded us the building at 515 W. Centre Ave., which is now the On the Move Outreach Center. This is home base for every move we make… sorting and folding clothes, setting our next meeting or fundraiser, giving away a bag of clothing, a box of food, a blanket or sleeping bag or an item of furniture that is needed.
On the Move is here to bring hope to a community in need. And the people of Artesia have been extremely generous in their donations, so we have many blessings coming in the doors and going out the doors.
Thank you for helping us keep the dream alive! See you Nov. 10 at the concert!
