Memorial services are scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at West Funeral Home in Carlsbad for Guadalupe C. “Lupe” Rodriguez.
Our precious angel, Lupe, was welcomed at the gates of heaven by her parents, Frederico and Altagracia, and her brother, Seledonio, on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, at her home, with her family at her side.
Abelardo Bolanos will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Ricardo Bustos, Errbey Moreno, Diego Cota, Adrian Ornelas and Jun Esquibel. Honorary pallbearers are her sons, Lloyd, Michael and Dennis, Jesus Torres, Erasmo Valencia, Marty Calderon and Rito Torres.
Visitation will be held from 1-5 p.m. Thursday at West Funeral Home.
Lupe was born March 23, 1947, in Artesia to Frederico and Altagracia (Saiz) Cota. She grew up in Artesia.
Lupe enjoyed spending time with family and listening to music. She was a childcare provider for Kevin Hanratty as well as a homemaker for her family.
Survivors include daughters Kathy Torres and husband Jesus of Carlsbad, and Lisa Rodriguez of Artesia; sons Lloyd Rodriguez and wife Peggy, and Michael Rodriguez and wife Suzy, both of Carlsbad, and Dennis Cota and wife Monica, and two men she loved as sons – Jun Esquibel and Erasmo Valencia – all of Artesia; grandchildren Rosy, Ricardo, Roxy, Errbey, Syann, Kayla, Alyssa, Raelynn, Mikey, Miranda, Adrian and Diego; and great-grandchildren Jazmine, Aubrey, and two great-grandchildren on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother.
