Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Terpening & Son Chapel for Judy K. Payne.

Payne, 71, passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 23, 2018, in El Paso, Texas.

Interment will follow the services at Woodbine Cemetery.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Judy touched are invited to visitation from 2-6 p.m. Thursday at Terpening & Son Mortuary to reminisce, grieve, support each other, and celebrate the love that we all share for Judy.

Judy was born Jan. 31, 1947, in Artesia to Paul and Helen Morris. She was the youngest of five children.

On May 15, 1965, she married her soulmate, Johnny Payne.

Judy is celebrating in Heaven, where she joined her parents and her brother, Paul.

Judy lived life to its fullest. Her family and friends were everything. She ever missed an opportunity to have them over for holidays of every kind. Her smile, clever sense of humor, and quick wit will be missed. She was an accomplished artist, creating masterpieces with oils, watercolors and ceramics. She was an excellent cook and a square-dancing queen. Later in life, she had quite a reputation with online video games.

Judy was loved and adored by her family. Survivors include her beloved husband of 53 years, Johnny; children Melanie Bozada and husband Thomas, Paul Payne and wife Norma, and Melinda Garrison and husband Ronnie; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters Charlotte Mathis and husband John, and Paula Roberts and husband Eddie; brother Robert Morris and wife Sallie; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arrangements are under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary. Condolences may be expressed online at www.artesiafunerals.com.
