Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, at First Baptist Church for Katie Scott of Artesia.

Scott, 93, passed away July 17, 2016, at San Pedro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Visitation will be held until 8 p.m. today at Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Katie was born June 29, 1923, in Elida to Spurlin and Beatrice (Samples) Martin.

On Dec. 1, 1940, she married Charlie Scott in Portales.

She was a housewife and member of First Baptist Church. Katie had also been a very active member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, babysitting, her roses, and reading.

Survivors include sons Charles Scott, Gary Scott Sr. and wife Gloria, and Pancho Scott, all of Artesia; daughters Charlotte Holland of Vancouver, Wash., and Patti Horner and husband Ronald of Artesia; stepsisters Joan Moore and Lawana Hite, both of Albuquerque, and Rhonda Hardy of Nevada; grandchildren Stephanie Cook, Diane Wright, Jack Holland, David Scott, Todd Scott, Duncan Hightower, Chad Scott, Gary Scott Jr., Spencer Scott, Missy Williams, Kari Foster, Ross Horner, Shelli Scheuch, Dennis Miller, Kenny Ragsdale and Amanda Mayberry; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Kathie Ragsdale; brother Bubba Martin; sisters Faye Peeve and Dean Martin; and stepsister Barbara.
