Bela Fox, 3, works on today’s “Helping Hands” wreath with her mother, Yasmin, during the Artesia Public Library’s weekly children’s Craft Time. After the craft, the 11 participants and their parents were treated to “loud and active” Lion Time, consisting of the reading of “Should I Share My Ice Cream?” by Mo Williams, which explores the challenges of doing the right thing; and “The Crayon Box That Talked” by Shane DeRolf, conveying the simple message that when we all work together, the results are much more interesting and colorful. The books and craft this week were in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
