Charles Kitchen rode through Artesia Thursday afternoon on his horse, Palomo, along with his mule, Pancho. Kitchen is traveling to Livingston, Montana on horseback to spread his father’s ashes in the Yellowstone River to both honor his father and raise awareness for veterans who served, but didn’t receive their deserved benefits, according to Kitchen.
