Members of Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest Troop 2009 gather at Artesia Car Parts Friday to donate boxes from their annual cookie campaign to the BPO Does. Jo Newton of the Does collects the cardboard boxes at Artesia Car Parts and donates them to the Dogs for the Deaf program, which rescues dogs from shelters throughout the West and trains them at its facility in Crownpoint, Ore., before placing them with people with deafness and hearing loss, as well as professionals who work with hearing-impaired clients.
