Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Manuela Navarrette Reza of Artesia.

Reza, 85, a longtime resident of Artesia, passed away at home with family by her side.

Fr. Martin Cornejo, OFM, will officiate at the services, with interment to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jay Oliver, Escolastico Reza III, Sammy Marquez Jr., Enrique Reza Jr., Ruben Madrid, Trinidad Malone, Anthony Ramirez and David Samora III. Honorary pallbearers are Bernie Ray Hinojos, Ezequiel Reza, David Reza, Dani Aranda and Trevor Joseph.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at Our Lady of Grace. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Manuela was born Sept. 28, 1930, in Carlsbad to Emiterio and Eloisa Navarrette.

On Dec. 4, 1947, she married Escolastico Reza in Menton, Texas, and the couple came to Artesia in 1961 from Anthony.

She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include sons Escolastico Jr., Enrique, Eduardo, Ector, Esequiel and Alfredo; daughters Enedina, Emma, Ernestina, Elena, Esperanza, Esther, Elvira, Elidia, Estella, Elisa and Evangelina; 55 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Escolastico Reza, on Nov. 24, 2010; her parents; son Estevan Reza; grandson Esteban Reza; and great-granddaughter Sunni Rae Reza.
