Osmond Viernes, 37, of Artesia, will go to trial at Eddy County District Court next week on charges of second-degree murder.
Viernes was arrested May 5, 2012, after a fatal shooting at the residence of the defendant’s brother, Jerry Viernes. The defendant was attending a birthday party, according to the New Mexico State Police, when Alfonso and Juan Sifuentes arrived at the residence.
