Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, April 6, at New Beginnings Church in Lovington for Naomi Marie Gooch of Lovington.
Gooch, 84, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at her residence.
Pastor David Villar will officiate the services, with interment to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Twin Oaks Memorial Park in Artesia.
Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. today at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Funeral Home in Lovington.
Naomi was born March 8, 1934, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Jake and Mabel (Warner) Adams.
She had been in Lovington for approximately four years but had also lived for many years in Tatum and for a short time in Oklahoma. She was a member of Treece Holiness Church in Kansas and loved that church very much. She attended and enjoyed New Beginnings Church and loved gospel piano music.
Naomi liked sewing, baking and bowling, and had a great sense of humor. She was a happy, giving, loving person who loved everyone in a special way. She would tell everyone that you should always hug each other, and she gave the best hugs of all.
Naomi loved her family and was very proud of her children! To quote her, “I have the best three kids in the world” was a familiar saying she shared with anyone and everyone around her. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include sons Stanley Gooch and wife Shanna of Carlsbad, and Stanley Gooch III and wife Lyndsey of Miami, Okla.; daughter Vera Young and husband Choya of Tatum; brother Jakey Adams of Seneca, Mo.; sisters Nettie Adams and Mable Ann Weicht, both of Seneca; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one stepdaughter, Patty Dorman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley Gooch Sr.; four brothers; and four sisters.
