 Navajo Refining Co. recently initiated the operation of a new high-pressure steam boiler. The boiler, the facility’s third, will provide additional reserve for peak demand periods, allowing Navajo to complete all planned preventive maintenance activities throughout the year. Artesians may have noticed plumes of steam and unusual noises from the refinery during the start-up of the boiler, necessary in ensuring its successful operation.
