Pete Samora

Services are scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, N.M., for Pete C. Samora, a longtime resident of Albuquerque.

Samora, 52, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, in Rociada, N.M.

Father Rob Yaksich will serve as celebrant. Cremation will follow the services, and interment of cremains will take place at a later date at the San Jose Cemetery in Rociada. Pallbearers will be Teddy Martinez, Art Lucero, Jose Martinez and Nathan Martinez.

A rosary will be recited at7 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Sorrows.

Pete was born Feb. 17, 1965, in Artesia to Pedro G. Samora and Catalina Cardenas.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his nephews, and being outdoors in the mountains of Rociada.

Survivors include his loving mother, Catalina C. Martinez, and husband Jose of Rociada; sisters Rosa Reza and companion Arturo Lucero of Albuquerque, Belen Samora and husband Kent Chaney of Artesia, and Linda Samora and Sandra Samora, both of California; nieces Tiffany Florez, Roxanne Soto, and Amanda Sandoval and husband Lyle; uncle Gabriel Cardenas and wife Manuela of Albuquerque; and numerous great-nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Pedro G. Samora.
