The world-famous Popovich Comedy Pet Theater – a family-oriented blend of the unique comedy and juggling skills of Gregory Popovich and the talents of his furry co-stars – is coming to the Ocotillo Performing Arts Center.

Popovich Comedy Pet Theater is a mainstay in the V Theater in the Miracle Mile shops at Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The show features more than 30 pets, each one rescued from an animal shelter and given a “new leash” on life.

The animals love to perform their skills and stunts onstage, and new additions include the goat duo of Kurt and Helgo, and special guest star Mr. Diamond the miniature horse.

Popovich has shared his expertise for raising, training, and living harmoniously with pets in two books: “You CAN Train Your Cat” and “Doggy Gone Good.”

He has also produced and starred in the feature film “Popovich and the Voice of the Fabled American West,” which has won several awards, including “Audience Choice” at the Dances with Films Festival in Los Angeles and International Film Festival in Austin.

Popovich himself has been voted “Entertainer of the Year” in Las Vegas.

The show is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at the OPAC. Tickets are $30 for adults, $20 for students, and may be purchased online at www.artesiaartscouncil.com or by calling the OPAC box office at 746-4212.
