TO THE EDITOR:
To the anonymous person who paid the breakfast meal on Thursday at IHOP, thank you! Not only was your generosity a surprise – it was the beginning to a great morning.
A few days before that, my husband, Pete, reconnected with an old Army buddy that was with him at Fort Benning and Fort Bragg 44 years ago. It turned out that Regino, Pete’s Army bud, is living in Alamogordo and was going to head out to Houston on Thursday through Artesia. Pete invited Regino and his wife to breakfast that morning to talk about their old Army times, look at pictures, and look through the 82nd Airborne annuals.
It was a nice reunion, and the lovely person who paid for their breakfast made it even nicer! Thank you! It was a wonderful morning for the trio (I was ill ☹ )! We will indeed pay it forward!
