Citizens interested in having a say on all things recreational in the City of Champions are encouraged to apply for positions coming open on the Recreation Commission.

Artesia City Councilor Raul Rodriguez, a member of the commission, stated at Tuesday’s council meeting that the commission is seeking to fill two openings.

Anyone interested in applying should contact Luis Reyes, recreation supervisor, at 746-9009 or lreyes@artesianm.gov, as soon as possible.

Rodriguez says the current positions will expire by the end of the month. The commission will provide its recommendations for appointment to the council and Mayor Raye Miller by either the council’s next meeting March 27 or its first meeting in April.
