Senior citizens listen intently as officers with the Artesia Police Department give a presentation on recognizing and avoiding scams during a Senior Resource Fair Thursday at San Pedro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Artesia’s seniors were able to gain valuable information on home care, rehabilitation services, community events, and more at the fair, which featured a number of booths sponsored by area organizations. San Pedro administrator Austin McDonough says the center hopes to begin hosting similar events in the future aimed at improving the quality of life for local seniors.
