The first motorcycle awareness sign in Eddy County was erected Wednesday on North 26th Street near U.S. 285. The sign reads “Watch for riders.” A call to place the sign was brought to the attention of Eddy County by Subrena Lackey, whose husband, Gary Lackey, a motorcycle rider, was killed in an accident at the intersection last April.
Subrena Lackey was present at the placing of the sign and hopes it will make drivers aware of those who ride motorcycles. … For the rest of the story, subscribe in print and on the web.
