 Artesia High School head soccer coach Chris Wiles and the Bulldog senior soccer players served as guest-of-honor speakers in Connie Garcia’s fifth-grade Spanish Language Arts Class recently at Roselawn Elementary School. The players spoke to students on what it takes to become a good athlete and to be successful in school and life. Studies included information from national motivational speaker Jimmy Cabrera’s “What’s in Your Backpack,” which covers “packing” for success in life with positive tools. Each letter of the word backpack has a special meaning, and Garcia’s students listened attentively as the seniors spoke on their past soccer experiences, goals and future plans.
