Local artist Mercedez Rodriguez, left, hands a hand-decorated cross to Joyce Munoz, head of delegation for Special Olympics of the Pecos Valley, as a donation for use in a raffle benefiting the organization. Tickets are $1 each and may be purchased from any Special Olympian or at J&J Home Care, 1301 W. Grand Ave. Monetary donations can also be made at J&J. The drawing will be held May 12, and proceeds will help the Pecos Valley Pride track, bocce and relay teams attend the New Mexico State Special Olympic Games May 18-19 in Albuquerque.
