Representatives from the office of U.S. Sen. Tom Udall will be on hand this week to provide information to students wishing to apply for military academies.

Staff will be on hand from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, at the Carlsbad High School Theatre, 3000 W. Church St., to answer questions and offer guidance to upcoming or recent graduates interested in entering a military academy in the fall of 2019.

“Each year, I have the honor of nominating some of the best and brightest young people from across New Mexico to our nation’s military service academies,” Udall said. “These service academy information sessions are a great opportunity for students and parents to learn more about the nominating process and to meet with representatives from the academies and New Mexico collegiate ROTC programs.”

Students have until Oct. 12 to submit an application for Udall’s nomination to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, or the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
