Update on fatal accident on 26th Street

ARTESIA – Rumors were abounding on social media and the like in reference to a fatal vehicle accident with occurred on Sunday morning. In a statement from Commander Lindell Smith from the Artesia Police Department about these rumors, he said, “We have interviewed a person we believe was driving the vehicle Chavez was killed in. We are in the process of more interviews and comparison of DNA analysis before charging him with a crime. Just good solid police work and understanding of the criminal justice system as whole.”
