An arrest warrant has been issued for a Roswell man accused of shooting another local man Thursday night as the two sat in a vehicle in an alley in west Roswell.

Roswell Police Department investigators are seeking to arrest Sebastian J. Montes, 20. He is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in connection with the shooting of a 28-year-old man who was with him in the alley south of Capitan Park, corner of West Alameda Street and Evergreen Avenue.

The shooting occurred shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday. The suspect fled on foot, and the victim called 911. The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his right arm and right chest. A RPD sergeant who arrived on scene used a tourniquet to help stop the victim’s bleeding before medics transported him to the hospital. The victim is expected to survive.

A motive for the shooting remains uncertain.
