Numerous Artesians were missing items under the tree this Christmas, and that had many seething at the United States Postal Service (USPS), FedEx and UPS.

And while some admitted to being last-minute shoppers and knowing a chance was being taken by placing orders the week of Christmas, most Artesians reported their orders were placed in plenty of time and that delivery in many cases stretched into the two-week range.

An abundance of local residents reported receiving no regular USPS delivery Saturday, Dec. 24, and Monday, Dec. 26. As it turns out, Monday was designated as a federal mail holiday due to the fact that Christmas Day fell this year on a Sunday.
