Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Terpening & Son Chapel for William Chad (Little) Simer of Artesia.

Little, 43, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, at his home.

Pastor Michael Elliott will officiate the services. Interment will take place at a later date.

Chad was born July 22, 1974, in Roswell to Elizabeth Ann (Simer) Gidak. He was a lifelong resident of Artesia.

Chad was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed camping with his family. He loved being on the radio and was known as “Blind Chad” on the Country Giant.

Survivors include his mother, Ann Gidak, and husband Edward of Artesia; son Nicholas Gage Simer and wife Lucero of Artesia; grandson Lukas Andrew Simer of Artesia; uncles Doug Simer and wife Sheila, Gene Simer and wife Kay, and Mike Simer and wife Nancy; aunt Sue Dean; numerous cousins; niece Madison Simer; and nephews Vance Simer and Jakota Mathews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a brother, James David Simer.
