Motorists are urged to be aware of construction beginning on New Mexico Highway 529.

James Hamilton Construction Company of Silver City is notifying the public that work on NM529 in Eddy and Lea counties will be ongoing for the next 30 days.

The construction zone stretches from mile marker 0-22. Survey crews will be on hand as well as crews constructing fencing along both sides of the road. Grading operations are also underway from mile marker 22-14, and pipe crews are installing pipe from mile marker 0-13. Trucks will be hauling materials throughout the project zone.

Motorists are asked to pay close attention to all construction signage and to drive safely and slowly, watching out for crews along both sides of the road.
