Last Friday and Saturday, the Artesia Arts Council hosted the 48th Annual Art in the Park at Jaycee Park.

The celebration included live performances and over 100 local food and craft vendors. Community members enjoyed shopping and entertainment from the New Mexico School for the Arts Jazz Band and Dance Students.

The Ocotillo Comedy Troupe entertained the audience on Friday night with a live performance of the Edgar Allan Poe Afterlife Radio Show. On Saturday, friends and neighbors gathered to enjoy the traditional cake walk hosted by the Artesia Public Schools band program.

Artesia Arts Council’s Executive Director Kandese Green expressed, “We had some amazing vendors, sponsors, and community partners this year. Everyone pitched in to make the event a roaring success; from vendors helping us with set up to the Cub Scouts helping with trash pickup. I feel that there was something there for everyone! We had unique soaps, jewelry, cups, teas, clothing… you name it, we probably had someone selling it. We even had dog treats!”

Vendor applications for 2024 are now available; email hello@artesiaartscouncil.com or call 575-746-4212 for more information!
