SENM Veterans’ Transportation is in need of drivers in Artesia. Residents who are retired, unemployed, or who simply have extra time on their hands are asked to volunteer for the service, which includes transporting veterans to and from doctor’s appointments. Larry Shipman, an Artesia driver, pictured above, will retire Aug. 8, leaving the community with just one volunteer. “Many of our veterans are disabled or can’t drive and would not be able to get to and from their doctor’s appointments without drivers,” said Mike Wade. “Please consider being part of our team; it would mean so much to us as well as to our veterans, who fought so hard to keep our country free.” Anyone interested in volunteering is asked to contact Alice or Donna at 575-622-0729.
