A 5.2-5.3 earthquake in the area of Mentone, Texas, resulted in about 20 seconds of moderate shaking in Artesia just before 3:30 a.m.
According to our Facebook post, the magnitude 5.3 quake was felt in Roswell, Carlsbad, Hobbs, Artesia, and even Las Cruces.
There has been no reports of damage at this time.
