Helen Mariscal, left, and Sylvia Flores, right, of Yucca Healthcare look on Thursday afternoon as Mayor Phillip Burch signs a proclamation declaring April 2012 as Alcohol Awareness Month in Artesia. According to the proclamation, alcohol abuse is prevalent within many demographic groups. Alcohol Awareness Month was established to provide Americans with information about the disease of alcoholism and the serious problem of alcohol abuse. Rob Larson - Daily Press
